Submission Guidelines

 

Thank you for your interest in submitting your work to Petal Projections. As community-driven publication, contribution and conversation is what guides us. We are incredibly thrilled by the opportunity to showcase the talent and creativity of independent creatives like yourself. We ask that you carefully review the following guidelines to ensure that your submission meets our requirements:​
  1. Theme and Focus:
    • Petal Projections focuses on the themes of community, intersectional feminism, self-love/ self-care, environmental care, & ecofeminism. 

    • We encourage diverse perspectives and original ideas. Innovative and thought-provoking content is highly appreciated.

  2. Content Categories:

    • We accept submissions in the following categories, with a priority for Literary Works:

      • Literary Works (essays, articles, rants & rambles, passion projects, poetic experimentations, multidisciplinary middles, notes-app perspectives, anything under the sun! our goal is to showcase your work in its best form and adapt to you, not vice versa)

      • Visual Artistry (both analogue and digital)

      • Photography

      • Other: should you have any submission ideas that don’t necessarily fall under these categories, please proceed with submission! We would love to work with you to include a diverse variety of formats. 

  3. Submission Format:​

    • Literary Submissions:​

      • Format: Please ensure to submit your work as a doc. or docx. file

    • Visual Art and Photography Submissions:

      • Image Format: JPEG or PNG.

      • Resolution: High-resolution images are preferred, at least 300 dpi.

  4. Submission Process:

    • Please fill out our Submission Form.​

    • ​Read the fields carefully to ensure your submission is reviewed. 

  5. Review and Response:

    • We carefully review all submissions and strive to respond to each submission within two weeks of the submission deadlines end. 

    • Here are the remaining deadline dates for the 2024 year. â€‹

      • Issue 11 & 12: November 15th 
  6. Rights and Attribution:

    • By submitting your work to Petal Projections, you grant us the non-exclusive right to publish your work in our magazine and related promotional materials, both in print and digital formats.

    • All contributors will be appropriately credited with promotional materials within both print & digital formats.

Ready to submit? Here is our official submission template. We ask that you use this template in addition to reviewing our guidelines, it should not replace reviewing the guidelines, but make the submission process more efficient. These submission guidelines are subject to change.
